Firefox, IE vulnerable to fake login pages?
Mozilla's Firefox 2 and Microsoft's Internet Explorer 7 are vulnerable to a flaw that could allow attackers to steal passwords.
In an article on cnetnews.com, I found out that Firefox and IE have security flaws in them that could create a huge risk for internet users. They are vulnerable to fake login pages, such as the ones seen on Myspace. Anyone who frequents myspace has encountered these fake login pages here and there. The threat from firefox is that if you have the remember my passwords feature enabled, it will automatically fill in these fakes login pages and whoever made the fake page now has access to your logins and passwords. The recommended fix for this is to disable this feature but as of today, Firefox had not released an update for their browsers to fix this problem.
